Some of our projects have been of sufficient scale to affect their surrounding area and this has led the practice into wider context urban regeneration studies. These have been primarily for local authorities such as Colchester Borough Council and Ipswich Borough Council but we have also been involved with the strategic development of the estate portfolios of housing associations and other institutions.

This growing sector of our work provides the opportunity to draw on the experience gained by the practice of a wide range of Use Classes including retail, residential and health and welfare. This allows us to put forward proposals for well-balanced and inclusive developments.

Public consultation is an important aspect of this sector and our experience in developing inner urban sites has given us the necessary skills to communicate sometimes controversial proposals effectively. If local people can be reassured of the benefits of a development then the concept being put forward can be seen to be successful.
