This exception site at the edge of the village of Peasenhall brought a range of challenges including problems getting services in, flood risk from the neighbouring river and power lines to the rear, together with significant level changes.
Barefoot & Gilles considered highway design very early, liaising with the local authority to enable an adoptable access road linking to the homes on high ground, with an extension to services and mains drainage. The contemporary design creates a notable gateway to the village and our drawings reassured the planning committee and local residents that the scheme would not be out of scale with adjacent properties.
