Summary
New landmark eco-offices for Colchester Borough Council and tenants Birkett Long solicitors, rated BREEAM ‘Very Good’ and with an A-rated Energy Performance Certificate. The development forms part of a wider commercial regeneration strategy to generate income from existing council resources with the intention of preventing cuts to ‘frontline’ public services.
Working closely with the client and the planners, Barefoot and Gilles secured planning permission for a prestigious 2-phase office development on the edge of Colchester town centre, with phase 1 being chosen as the new headquarters for Birkett Long solicitors.
Barefoot & Gilles acted as lead designer and contract administrator to deliver a high-quality build and excellent value for money.
